Chapter 7: Decisions

“You can’t go back there! Not when you have somewhere safe to go” Silver stated to the stubborn hedgehog that just had awoken with the idea of going back to his love side. Both were outside the building, at a near park.

   “Get out the way!”

   “No! You won’t risk your life and my child’s”

   Sonic froze.” How do you…”

   “Does Shadow know about this?”  

   “Yes, he does. And also knows it’s not yours!”

   “Are you sure? Or maybe you just forgot those incredible nights we spent together two months and half ago”

   Sonic looked at the floor and folded his ears; Shadow was right when he said he was a whore.

   “Does he know about it?”

   Blue nodded, that confession was the responsible of his broken bones. “I just told him today” Tears started to fall on his cheeks, now he didn’t know what to do.

   He was scared since he saw those raged burning crimson eyes. As much as he loved him he feared being hit to death by the dark one.

   “I don’t know what to do!” He fell on blue knees, and burst out in tears. Silver got on his knees too and embraced him.

   “Don’t cry, you’re not alone in this. I’ll take care of you and the baby”

   “Back off!!” He pushed the albino away and wiped his tears with the plaster on his hand.

   “I already have someone who cares about me, and it’s not you!”

   “You mean the one who hit your face and broke your wrists?”

“He did that ‘cause he knows the thing inside me is not of his!” He cried more, knowing what he had to do to get rid of that problem. But also knew Silver wouldn’t let the plan work out.

   Silver was astonished, he never thought the cobalt would refer to his child as a ‘thing’ “Look, I’ll take you my place. There you’ll think clearly”

   Sonic nodded, knowing he wouldn’t stop insisting. Once there Silver told the blue to rest in his bedroom.

   “Silver, I’m hungry”

   “What do you wanna eat? I can cook something or order a pizza”

   “I’d like watermelon” He asked, knowing Silver had to go out to get it.

   “Watermelon? I’ll go the supermarket, wait here I won’t be long”

   As soon as Silver was gone Sonic looked for a directory and Silver’s credit card, picked the phone and made a call to an abortion clinic.

“Olive Clinic, how can I help you?”

“I want to…abort. Do I have to pay for it or something?”

“Yes, you do. You can pay in cash or with credit card”

“I think I’ll use the card” He waved the card, it was a luck he still remembered where the ivory one put the things away.

“You just have to tell me the numbers of the card to verify it”

“Sure, it’s 558833012345” The female verified on the monitor.

“Name?”

“Sonic the hedgehog”

“Ok, are you married?”

“Why?”

“If you are, we need both authorizations”

“No, I don’t” Sonic sweated, he hoped not be asked for proves.

“Ok, you have to be operated today at seven o’clock, today. Next week we have to close, is there any problem with that?”

“No, it’s perfect. Thanks” He hung up and placed a hand on his belly.

“I’m sorry” Pronounced those words to the not born creature.
   
Shadow got home after going to a fast food restaurant to get some meal for his loved. He knew his azure would be starving; besides it was a way to say ‘I’m sorry’.

He ran to the living room where he had left the cerulean, nobody was there. He ran to the bed room then started to seek him in every corner of the house.

When realised the cerulean wasn’t there he was about to call Tails or Knuckles or one of the azure’s friends.

When grabbed the phone he saw a keyring on the floor that didn’t belong to him or Sonic; he picket it up and knew who the owner was because the key was a copy of the house, there was only one person that could own the key copy apart from him or the azure. He clenched his dark fists but loosed them. If the azure had decided that then there was nothing to do.

He let himself fall on the couch; the blue’s decision was the sanest he could have taken. He stood up and went the bed room; he lay on the bed and tried to get some sleep.

On the pillow there still was some of the sapphire’s essence; a sweet apricot scent travelled through his nostrils, reminding him the good times he used to spend with his blue furry; the distant mornings awaking beside his beloved while the entering sunlight blessed all his lapis lazuli body, those jade lagoons being exposed as his azure lids were being lifted.

The long talks after the sunrise followed by a nice breakfast. The long goings out in the afternoons and evenings. He even missed the long discussions; they always ended in an affective hug and a kiss (sometimes in a long intercourse).

The dark stood up from the bed, he decided to go and apology to his lover for all the pain he brought him, he hoped the azure returned his side but deep inside of him he wished he didn’t, now that he was completely sure of his inexistent fatherhood he didn’t know how things would be from that moment.

When Silver arrived put the watermelon on the table and parted it in slices, when finished placed them on a plate and took him to his loved.

   When entered the room he wasn’t there anymore. Silver left the room to go and seek Sonic when the door was knocking. ‘Why did he go out?’ He thought, supposing the azure was the one at the door.

   “What’re you doing here?!” Silver shouted as saw was the black one who was there.

   “Shut up, I know Sonic it’s here I want to talk to him”

“No way! I won’t let you hurt him anymore; I know he’s expecting a child from me”

“Did he tell you?” Shadow asked, hiding the rage inside of him.

“No, he didn’t. I took him to hospital few hours ago; there they told me about it, you dared to hurt him even when…” The phone rang interrupting him. Silver took the phone in the living room to answer thinking it was Sonic.

“Yes, who is it?”

“I’m calling from the abortion clinic, I forgot to ask you if…”

“From a what!?”

“Aren’t you Mr Sonic? Forget it, he just arrived” The receptionist hung up. Silver tried to call again, but nobody answered.

“Sonic is going to abort” Silver said to him.

Shadow was stunned; he never thought he would be capable to do it. When Sonic commented it a week ago he thought he was being dramatic.

“It’s all your fault! He’s gonna do it because of you!”

“Stop whining! I know where he could have gone, and I’ll stop him from doing a stupid thing”
